Students with long hair are asked to tie it back in a pony-tail, bun, or braid.
Special Apprentice Classes
Apprentice classes are available by invitation only. Based on their talent, attendance and dedication, select students may be invited to attend special Apprentice classes, taught by Artistic Director and Master Teacher Rita Mustaphi.
DANCE SEASON/FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS
Signing up for this dance season brings with it some commitments. All of our dancers will be given the opportunity to perform in our Spring recital, Sadhana, which usually takes place close to Memorial Day weekend. (Due to venue availability, this year’s Sadhana will take place on May 11, 2024). Along with that, there are costume fees which will be collected each Winter session. We will have a couple of rehearsals at the end of the season to prepare for the recital. It is mandatory that all participating dancers be at every rehearsal. This ensures that the show will run smoothly. Any absences need to be approved by your teacher and too many absences may result in the student’s removal from the performance.
Katha Dance Company Performances
Students are required to attend all KDT company performances when they occur. This is an important part of the student’s dance education. KDT will be in touch with students and parents about how to reserve tickets as the performance draws closer.
Student Performances
Senior students are expected to represent the KDT School by performing in the community. These performances are by invitation only, and are a great opportunity for students to gain performance experience and strengthen their skills as dancers. Intermediate and senior students may also request permission to perform at community events. Any student who wishes to perform at any event in the community must obtain permission from their teacher at least three weeks in advance of the performance.
